Given

» The area of the rectangular field = 3 acres = 3×4840 = 14520 sq yards.

» width = X yards

and

» length = Y = 3X yards

___________

Area of field = X * 3X = 3X²

=> 3X² = 14520

=> X² = 14520/3 = 4840

=> X = 69.57

______-

Width = 69.57

and

length = 3×69.57 = 208.71

___________

Then the diagonal's of the field :-

=> 69.57×√10 = 220 yds

-_______________

The speed of walking of the man is 15/4 miles per hour ____[GIVEN]

or

=> 15×1760/4 = 6600 yds in 60 minutes.

-_--_______

» So he will take 220×60/6600 = 2 minutes to walk along the diagonal of the rectangular field.
