the lenghts of sides of a rectangle are 5cm and 3.5cm. Find the ratio of its perimeter to its area.

I'm little confused with the answer given in digest. I want to know why at last the answer (17 : 17.5) is multiplied by 2? Please clear it

Here 17 and 17.5 is multiplied by two because to get a number without decimal..34:35 is also the ratio of perimeter to Area.

They multiplied it because there is a decimal number which is 17.5 so therefore they didn't keep it in the simplest form and thus multiplied it by 2. This is because ratio numbers should not be in a decimal and fractional form and it always needs to be in a proper proportion.

Hope it helps !!!!!!!!
