The length and breadth are in the ratio of 8:9 . The perimeter of the field is 255m. Find the dimensions of the field

  • As per the data given in the question, we have to find the dimensions of the field.
  • Given data- Perimeter of field is 255m.

        Let the length and breadth are 8x and 9x respectively.

        As we know, the area of rectangle is length\times breadth.

  • We will apply the perimeter of rectangle (formula). we will get it,

         \Rightarrow 2(8x+9x)=255.

         \Rightarrow 16x+18x=255

         \Rightarrow 34x=255

         \Rightarrow x=\frac{255}{34}

         \Rightarrow x=7.5.

         So, the length of field,

         \Rightarrow8\times7.5.=60.

         And the breadth of field,

         \Rightarrow 9\times7.5=67.5m

Given that:- The ratio of length and the breadth is 8:9

and the perimeter is 255m,

To find:- Dimension of field,

As we know that, perimeter of rectangle = 2(l+b)

=>2(8x+9x)=255

=>16x+18x=255

By adding both term,

=>34x=255

=>x=\frac{255}{34}

=>x=7.5

Therefore, the length of the field,

=>8*7.5=60

and for breadth of the field,

=>9*7.5=67.5

Hence, the dimension of the field is 60m and 67.5m.
