Area = 300*12*400*12 sq inches
no of ants = 3600*4800*3= 108*48*10^4

as 300 ft=3600 inch and 400 ft=4800 inch.then area in sqr inch=17280000
1 sqr inch need 3 ant hence 17280000 sqr inch need 3*17280000 ants.

Answer:

Number of ants in the field is 51840000.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : The length and breadth of a field is 300×400 ft, if there are 3 ants on average per square inch of field.

To find : The number of ants in field?

Solution :

The length and breadth of a field is 300×400 ft.

The area of the field is

A=l\times b

A=300\times 400

A=120000ft^2

Convert ft into inch,

1 foot = 12 inch

1 square foot = 12\times 12 square inch

120000 square foot = 120000\times 12\times 12 square inch

120000 square foot = 17280000 square inch.

There are 3 ants on average per square inch of field.

i.e. On 1 square inch of filed there is  3 ants.

On 17280000 square inch of filed there is 3\times 17280000  ants.

On 17280000 square inch of filed there is 51840000 ants.

Therefore, Number of ants in the field is 51840000.
