The length and breadth of a hall are 5m ,6m and 7m.the hall has one door of area of 1m x 0.5m. Find the cost of painting the walls(only the walls) at the rate of rupees 90 per square meter

therefore,

LSA= 2(lb+bh+lh)

=2(30+42+35)

=2(107)

=214m^2

area of the ceiling= l x b

= 5 x 6

=30 m^2

adding the LSA of the room and the area of the ceiling

=30 + 214

=244 m^2

now,

l of door=1 m

b of the door=0.5 m

therefore,

area of the door= l x b

= 1 x 0.5

=0.5 m^2

now, subtract the area of door from the area of the room

=244 m^2 - 0.5 m^2

=243.5 m^2
