Let the common ratio between the length and breadth of the rectangle be x

ratio of length and breadth = 2 : 1

length = 2x

breadth = x

perimeter of rectangle = 240 m

2 ( l + b) = 240

2 (2x + x ) = 240

2 (3x) = 240

6x = 240

x = 240/6

x = 40

length = 2x = 2(40) = 60 m

breadth = x = 40 m

area of rectangle = l × b

= 60 × 40

= 2400 m²
