Answer:

Given:-

The length and breadth of a rectangle are 10m and 400cm respectively. Its perimeter is ________ m ?

To Find:-

The perimeter of a rectangle.

Note:-

The perimeter of rectangle = 2 × ( length + breadth )

If length and breadth unit ( cm, m ) are not same then we can't find the perimeter so we should take it into equal unit Like - cm , cm and m, m.

Solution:-

Length = 10m , Breadth = 400 cm ( here unit is not same as you can see )

According to note second point and we know that~

▪︎ 1 m = 100 cm

▪︎ 10 m = 10 × 100 cm

▪︎ 10 m = 1000 cm

So now, length = 1000 cm , breadth = 400 cm ( now unit is same )

Now, perimeter~

According to note first point~

▪︎ Perimeter \ \ of \ \ a \ \ rectangle = 2 × ( length + breadth )

▪︎ Perimeter \ \ of \ \ a \ \ rectangle = 2 × ( 1000 cm + 400 cm )

After doing bracket calculations~

▪︎ Perimeter \ \ of \ \ a \ \ rectangle = 2 × 1400 cm

After doing multiplication~

▪︎ Perimeter \ \ of \ \ a \ \ rectangle = 2800 cm

Answer:-

Hence, the perimeter of a rectangle = 2800 cm
