The length and breadth of a rectangle are in the ratio 3:2 and its perimeter is 20cm. find the area of the rectangle ​

Answer:

let the length be 3x and breadth be 2x

now we know that

perimeter of rectangle = 2(length + breadth)

therefore

2(3x+2x) = 20

10x= 20

x= 20÷10

x=2cm

now

length is 3x and breadth is 2x

therefore, length 3×2=6cm and breadth = 2×2=4cm

now we have

length and breadth

and area of rectangle is (length × breadth)

so, area of rectangle =(6 cm × 4 cm )

= 24cm²
