The length and breadth of a rectangle is 8 cm and (x-3)cm respectively. Find the value of x if the rectangle’s area is 40sq.cm.

40=8×(x-3)

40=8x-24

40+24=8x

64=8x

8x=64

x=64/8

x=8

Breadth=x-3

Area 400

400 =8×(x-3)

400=8x-24

424/8=53
