Correct Question :

The length and breadth of a rectangle are (2x + 3) and (x + 4) respectively. Express the area and perimeter.

Given :

Length = (2x + 3)

Breadth = (x + 4)

To find :

Area and Perimeter of the rectangle.

Solution :

Area= l × b

Area = (2x + 3)(x + 4)

= 2x²+ 3x + 8x + 12

= 2x² + 11x + 12

So area is 2x² + 11x + 12

Perimeter= 2(l + b)

Perimeter = 2{(2x + 3) + (x + 4)}

=2(3x + 12)

= 6x + 24

So perimeter is 6x + 24.
