The length and breadth of a rectangular board are 16 cm and 9 cm respectively. keeping the area of the board same, if the length is reduced by 4 cm , what would be the breadth of the board

l= 16cm

b=9cm

a=l*b

=16*9

=144 cm^2

now, the length is 16-4

=12

let length be x

therefore,

144=12 * x

x = 144/12

=12 cm

breadth = 12cm
