the length and breadth of a rectangular field are in ratio 9:5. if the area of the field is 14580 sq m , find the cost of surrounding the field with a fence at the rate of 3.25rupees per metre .​

GIVEN;

  • Ratio of length and breadth is 9:5
  • Area of rectangular field is 14580 m²
  • Cost of fencing is Rs. 3.25 per metre.

TO FIND:

  • Total cost of fencing in field

SOLUTION:

\sf Let\: ratio\: of \:length\: and \:breadth\: be \:9x:5x

\sf⇝✫Area\: of\: rectangle=Length×breadth

\sf:⟹\:\:14580m²=9x × 5x

\sf:⟹\:\:14580m2=45x²

 :⟹\:\:\sf \frac{14580m²}{45}=x²

\sf:⟹\:\:324=x²

\sf:⟹\:\:18=x

So

  • \sf length\: of\: rectangle=9x=9×18=162m
  •  \sf Breadth \:of\: rectangle=5x=5×18=90m

To find the cost of fencing first we have to find perimeter of rectangular field.

✫Perimeter of rectangle=2(L+B)

\sf:\implies\:\:2(162+90)

\sf: \implies\:\:2(252)

\sf: \implies\:\:504m

\sf Cost \:of \:fencing \:of\: 1m=Rs.3.25[Given]

⇝Cost of fencing of 504m=Rs.1638

So total cost of fencing is Rs. 1638
