Since angle b/w sides of a rectangle is 90°
Therefore using pythagoras theorem
{(0.3m)^2+(40cm)^2 }^1/2
{(30cm)^2+(40cm)^2}^1/2
{900+1600}^1/2
2500^1/2
50 cm
Therefore the disatnce b/w opposite corners is 50cm

Let the diagonal be x (Opposite sides can be a diagonal)
0.3 metres = 30cm (1 m = 100 cm)
As the rectangle is 90°, We can use Pythagoras' theorem.
Hence, the hypotenuse is 50 cm.
So, the length between the two sides will be 50 cm.
