The length and breadth of a rectangular piece of land are in ratio 5 : 2 therefore, Let us assume that :

  • Length = l = 5x

  • Breadth = b = 2x

And the perimeter of rectangle with length l and breadth b is given by ;

Applying this formula here ;

As total cost of fencing it at Rs 12.5 meter is Rs 25000 So,

:\longmapsto \rm  \rm12.5 \times 14x = 25000 \\  \\

:\longmapsto \rm x =  \frac{25000}{175}  \\  \\

Hence,

TO FIND :-

find its length and breadth = ?

SOLUTION :-

first we have formula :-

perimeter = 2 × (length +breadth)

Let length = 5x

breadth = 2x

perimeter = 2 ( 5x + 2x)

= 14 x

= 14 x × 1.25 = 25000

x = 25000

= 14 × 1.25

x = 142.85

Length = 5 × 142 .85 = 714.25 m

Breadth = 2 × 142.85 = 285 .70 m

therefore :-

Length = 714.25 m

Breadth = 285.70m
