Answer:

Length = 8 m 40 cm = 840 cm

Let length be 3x and breadth be 2x.

⇒ 3x = 840

⇒ x = 840 ÷ 3 = 260 cm

By substituting value of x in breadth,

2x = 2 × 260 = 520 cm

Area of rectangle = length × breadth

⇒ 840 × 520 = 4,36,800 cm²

Length of carpet = 1 m 40 cm = 140 cm

Area of carpet = Area of room

Area of carpet = length × breadth

⇒ 436800 = 140 × length

⇒ length = 436800 ÷ 140 = 3120 m

∴ Cost of carpet at ₹25 per metre = 3120 × 25 = ₹78,000
