Answer:

lenghth = 200m ; breadth= 120m .

Step-by-step explanation:

length : breadth = 5:3

therefore, total perimeter = total money required / money required per metre

= 4800/15

=320

therefore, length=5/8 × 320

= 200 m

breadth = 3/8 × 320

= 120(ans)

Question -

The length and breadth of a rectangular school are in the ratio 5:3.At the rate of Rs 15 per metre, it costs a total Rs 4800 to fence the school with bamboo. Find the length and breadth of the school.

Answer-

Total cost of fencing the school with bamboo at Rs 15per metre= Rs 9600

Therefore, the perimeter of the rectangular school = 4800÷15=320

Let,

The length (l) of the school be 5x

And,

The breadth(b) of the school be 3x

We know that,

Perimeter of rectangle =2(l+b)

 \implies 320= 2(5x+ 3x)

 \implies\frac{320}{2}  = 5x + 3x

\implies160 = 8x

\implies x =  \frac{160}{8}

\implies x = 20

Therefore the length of the school = 5×20= 100

And breadth of the school = 3×20= 60
