step-by-step explanation

Perimeter remains the same but area changes

Option A is right

perimeter of original reactangle =2×(20+10) cm=60 cm

And Area =20 cm×10 cm=200 cm2

Now, rectangle of length 5 cm and breadth 2 cm are removed from original rectangle.

So, from figure,

perimeter of new rectangle =(20+10+(20−5)+(10−2)+5+2) cm=60 cm

Now, area of new rectangle =Area of original reactangle-area of cut out

=200−(2×5)=200−10=190 cm2

∴ Perimeter remains the same but area changes.
