Let the area of original square = 100Then, side = 10New length = 130% of 10 = 13, New breadth = 120% of 10 = 12New area = 13*12 = 156Therefore Increase is area = 56%

Answer: 56%

Step-by-step explanation:

Let length be 10

then after 30% it will be 13

And if breadth be 10

Then after 20 it will be 12

Area before increase

Length × breadth i.e 10x10 =100

Area after increase

12×13= 156

so formed exceeds the area of the square by

= (156-100)/100 ×100

=56/100×100

=56%

--------------------------------

Other method:

If R1 = 30% and R2 =20%

Then

Required changed in area

= R1 +R2+ R1×R2/100

= 30+20+ 30×20/100

=50+ 600/100

= 50+6

=56%
