Ratio of the length to the breadth is 25 : 1 if  length and breadth of a steel tape are 100 cm and 4 cm respectively

Given:

  • The length of a steel tape is 100 cm
  • The Breadth of the steel tape is 4  cm

To Find:

  • Ratio of the length to the breadth

Solution:

  • Ratio  a : b
  • First part a = antecedent
  • Second part b  = consequent
  • create equivalent Ratios :
  • By dividing or multiplying the  antecedent   and  consequent  of a given ratio by the same number except zero
  • a : b  = ak : bk      k ≠ 0
  • a : b  = (a/k) : (b/k)   k ≠ 0

Step 1:

Ratio of Length and Breadth of steel tape

Length : Breadth

Step 2:

Substitute Length = 100 cm and Breadth = 4 cm

100 : 4

Step 3:

Divide antecedent   and  consequent by 4

25 : 1

Hence, ratio of the length to the breadth is 25 : 1
