The length and breadth of per tile is 3 m by 2 m. The area of a floor of a room is 8 m by 7 m. How many tiles needed to cover the floor?

area of room = l × b

= 8 × 7

= 56 m^ 2

area of tile = l × b

= 3 × 2

= 6m^2

56 / 6

= 9 . 3 tiles

9 tiles approx needed

No. of tiles needed to cover the floor=Area of floor/Area of tile

=8×7/2×3

=56/6

=28/3

=9⅓ tiles...

Well we have to use 9tiles and ⅓ tiles is theoretically not possible, but practically we may break 1 tile into ⅓.
