Perimeter of the field = 336 metres

To find,

The area of the field.

Solution,

Let,the length and breadth of the given rectangle, 4x metres and 3x metres respectively. (Assume, x as a variable to do the further mathematical calculations.)

So,the perimeter of the given rectangle

= 2×(4x+3x)

= 2×7x

= 14x metres

Now,if we compare the perimeter which is given in the question and the perimeter which we have calculated, then we will get the following mathematical equation.

14x = 336

x = 336/14

x = 24

Length = 4×24 = 96 metres

Breadth = 3×24 = 72 metres

Area = 96×72 = 6912 m²

Hence,the area of the field is 6912 m².
