Let the breadth of the rectangular piece = 2x.
We know that perimeter of the land = 2(l + b)
= 2(5x + 2x)
= 2(7x)
= 14x. ----- (1)
Given that total cost of fencing = 250000.
Given that Rate of fencing = 12.5 per metre.
Therefore perimeter = Total cost /rate
= 250000/12.5
= 20000. -------- (2)
On solving (1) & (2), we get
14x = 20000
x = 20000/14
x = 1428.5
Therefore the length of the rectangular piece of land = 5 * 1428.57 = 7142.8m.
Therefore the breadth of the rectangular piece of land = 2 * 1428.57 = 2857.1m
