                                                =0.25.0.20
                                                 =0.0500
                                                 =0.05 m^2


length of green tiles is 40 cm= 0.40m
breadth of green tiles is 25 cm =0.25m
Area of green tiles                     =length x breadth
                                                   =0.40 x 0.25
                                                   = 0.1000
                                                   =0.1 m^2

half of the floor is to be covered with red and green tiles 
So area to be covered with red tiles = area to be covered with green tiles                                                                  =area of the room/2
                                                          =500 m^2/2 
                                                          =250 m^2
                                                         
Number of red tiles required = area to be covered with red tiles / area of red tiles
                                              =250 m^2 / 0.05 m^2
                                               =5000 tiles
 Number of green tiles required =area to be covered with green tiles / area of green tiles
                                             =250 m^2 / 0.1 m^2
                                              =2500 tiles

The required number of red tiles are 5000 and green tiles are 2500
