the length and breadth of the rectangular field is in the ratio 4:3. If the area is 3072 m square find the cost of fencing the field @ rupees 4 per metre.

Ratio of length and breath = 3:4

Let the length and breath be 3x and 4x respectively

Now ,

Given that

Area of the field = 3072 m²

length×breath = 3072m²

(3x)×(4x) = 3072

12x² = 3072

x² = 256

⇒ x =  16

Length = 4x = 4×16 = 64 m

Breath = 3x = 3×16 = 48 m

Perimeter of rectangular field = 2(Length+Breath)

= 2(64+48)

= 2(112)

= 224 m

Now,

Cost of fencing = 4×224 = 896 Rs.
