Given :

  • Length of Table = 1.8 m
  • Breadth of Table = 1 m
  • Length of Book = 15 cm
  • Breadth of Book = 10 cm

To find :

  • how many books can be kept side by side on the table

Solution :

⇒ Let's find the Area of the Table.

Area of Table = l × b

                       = 1.8 × 1

                       = 1.8 m²

⇒ Now, let's find the Area of the Book.

Area of the Book = l × b

                             = 15 × 10

                             = 150 cm²

⇒ Now, let's convert from centimeters.

1 m² = 10000 cm²

150/10000 = 15/1000

                  = 15/1000

                  = 0.015

⇒ Now, let's divide to find how many can be kept.

No of books = Area of Table/Area of Book

                     = 1.8/0.015

                     = 120

Therefore, 120 books can be kept side by side on the table.
