The length and breath of a rectangular field
are in the ratio 3:2. If the area of the field
is 3456m? Find the cost of fencing the field
at Rs. 2.50 per m²
Answers
let length be 3x and breadth be 2x
area = 3456 m²
length ×breadth = 3456
3x*2x = 3456
6x²=3456
x²= 576
x= 24
so, length = 3x = 3×24 = 72m
breadth = 2x= 2×24 = 48m
cost of fencing at 1m² = 2.50 rs
cost of fencing at 3456m² = 2.50×3456
= 5×1728 = rs 8640
Ratio of length and breadth of a rectangular field = 3:2
So let the length be 3x and breadth be 2x
Area of the field = 3456 sq.m
Length * Breadth = 3456
3x * 2x = 3456
6x² = 3456
x² = 3456/6
x² = 576
x = √576
x = 24
Hence Length of the rectangular field = 3x = 3(24) = 72m
Breadth of the rectangular field = 2x = 2(24) = 48m
Length of the fence of the field = Perimeter of the field
=> Perimeter of the rectangular field = 2(Length + Breadth)
= 2(72 + 48)
= 2(120)
= 240m
Therefore length of the fence of the field = 240m
Cost of fencing the field per m = Rs.2.5
Cost of fencing the rectangular field = Length of the fence of the field *
Cost of fencing the field per m
= 240 * 2.5
= Rs. 600
