In case of rectangle,

Length = 40 cm

Breadth = 10 cm

Area of rectangle = length × breadth

Area of rectangle = ( 40 × 10 )  {cm}^{2}

now,

area of square = area of rectangle [Given]

area of square = 400  {cm}^{2}

Length of Side of square = √area

Length of Side of square = √400 {cm}^{2}

Length of side of square = 20 cm

Required Answer : 20 cm

AnswEr :

›»› The perimeter of a square is 80 cm.

Given :

  • Length of a rectangle = 40 cm.
  • Breadth of a rectangle = 10 cm.
  • Area of square = Area of rectangle.

To Find :

  • Perimeter of a square = ?

Solution :

Let us assume that, the side of a square is x cm.

As we know that

→ Area of square = side * side.

→ Area of rectangle = length * breadth.

According to the given question,

→ Area of square = Area of rectangle

→ side * side = length * breadth

→ x * x = 40 * 10

→ x² = 40 * 10

→ x² = 400

→ x = √400

x = 20

∴ The side of square is 20 cm.

Now,

As we know that

→ Perimeter of square = 4 * side

→ Perimeter of square = 4 * 20

Perimeter of square = 80

Hence, the perimeter of a square is 80 cm.
