In case of rectangle,

Length = 40 cm

Breadth = 10 cm

Area of rectangle = length × breadth

  • Area of rectangle = ( 40 × 10 )  {cm}^{2}
  • area = 400 cm²

now, According to the question

A square is also the same area

area of square = area of rectangle [Given]

  • area of square = 400  {cm}^{2}

therefore the Side of square = √area

Length of Side of square = √400{cm}^{2}

Length of side of square = 20 cm

  • perimeter of square = 4× side
  • 4 ×20
  • 80 cm

Required answer 80 cm .
