Answer:let's take l=5xb=3x

perimeter of rectangle is=2 (l+b)•

128=2 (5x+3x)

128=2 (8X)

128÷2=8X

64=8X

64÷8x

x=8

now

length is 5 (8)=40cm

and breadth is 3 (8)=24cm

Answer:

The dimensions are : 40 metres & 24 metres.

Explanation :

In a rectangle,

Given ratio :

Length : breadth = 5 : 3

Perimeter = 128metres.

Let's assume the common ratio as ‘x’ units.

So, the dimensions are :

  • l(length) = 5x
  • b(breadth) = 3x

We know that,

Perimeter of a rectangle = 2(l + b)

= 2(5x + 3x)

= 2(8x)

= 16x

But, the perimeter is 128metres (given)

According to the question :

→ 16x = 128

→ x = 128/16

→ x = 8

The common ratio is 8 units.

Hence, the dimensions are :

  • length = 5x = 5(8) = 40 metres.
  • breadth = 3x = 3(8) = 24 metres.
