Answer:

(i) length = 500m

breadth = 300m

area = I x b

500 x 300

= 150000m^2

(ii) cost = 150000 x 10000 = Rs 1500000000

Given:

The length and the breadth of a rectangular piece of land are 500m and 300m respectively.

To find:

i) The area of the rectangular piece of land.

ii) The cost of the land, if 1m² of the land cost $10000.

Concept:

The area of a rectangle is equal to the product of its length and breadth or width.

The cost of a rectangular field is equal to the product of its area and the cost of per m² or cm² of the field.

Calculation:

i) The area of the rectangular piece of land.

We know that, the area of a rectangle is equal to the product of its length and breadth.

Area = l \times b

Given that, the length and breadth of a rectangle are 500m and 300m respectively.

By plugging the given values in the formula, we get the following results:

Area = l \times b

\implies Area = 500 \times 300

\implies Area = 150000

ii) The cost of the land, if 1m² of the land cost $10000.

We know that, the cost of the land is equal to the product of its area and the cost of per m². Therefore,

Cost = Area \times 10000

\implies Cost = 150000 \times 10000

\implies Cost = 1500000000

Hence, thee area of rectangular piece of land is 150000m² and its cost is $1500000000.
