The length and breadth of a rectangular field are in the ratio 5:3 and its perimeter is 480 m. What is the area of the field?

Here the length of the rectangular field is 5x

And breadth is 3x

So the perimeter of field is 2( length + breadth)

2(5x+3x)=480

2(8x)=480

16x=480

X=480/16=30

There fore the length of the field is 150 units

Breadth of the rectangular field is 90 unit_

The area the rectangle = length × breadth

150×90

=13500 sq units .

Answer:

Length:Breadth = 5:3

Length = 5x

Breadth = 3x

Perimeter = 480 m

Perimeter = 2(length +breadth)

480 = 2×(5x+3x)

480 = 2×8x

480 = 16x

x = 480/16

x = 30 m

Length = 5x = 5×30 = 150 m

Breadth = 3x = 3×30 = 90 m
