the length and the breadth of a rectangular room are 12m and 10m respectively. how many pieces of carpet 4 metre long and 2.8 metre wide are required to cover its floor? if the cost of each piece of carpet is rupees 900 find the cost of carpeting the floor .

Area of the rectangular room = L * B

                                                  = 12 * 10

                                                  = 120 SQ m

         Area of peice of carpet  = L * B

                                                  = 4 * 2.8

                                                  = 11.2

 no. of peices of carpet required   = Area of the rectangular room / Area of

                                                                                                               of carpet

                                                         = 120 / 11.2

                                                         = 10.7

      cost of 1 peice of carpet           = 900 RS

       Cost of 10.7 carpets                 = 10.7 * 900

                                                         =  9630 RS
