Answer :

  • Volume of cylinder = 43.6577 cm³
  • It is to be rounded off to significant digits = 43.7cm³

Given :

  • The length and the radius of a cylinder measured with slide callipers are found to be 4.54cm and 1.75cm

To find :

  • Volume of cylinder

Solution :

To find the volume of cylinder we must use the formula of volume of cylinder

Given,

  • Length of cylinder = 4.54 cm
  • Radius of cylinder = 1.75 cm

We know that

  • Volume of cylinder = πr²l

Where,

  • l is length of cylinder
  • r is radius of cylinder

》Volume of cylinder = πr²l

》Volume of cylinder = π × 4.54 × (1.75)²

The minimum number of significant digits on a particular term is 3 so , result must should have three significant digits and rounded off

》Volume of cylinder = 3.14 × (1.75)² × 4.54

》Volume of cylinder = 3.14 × 1.75 × 1.75 × 4.54

》Volume of cylinder = 43.6577 cm³

Now, It is to be rounded off to significant digits = 43.7cm³

Answer:

43.65 cm

Explanation:

lenght of cylinder= 4.54cm

radius of cylinder= 1.75cm

we know that

volume of cylinder= πr^2h

the value of π = 22/7

(22/7)*1.75*1.75*4.54

43.65cm
