the length and width of a rectangular field is of the ratio 3:4 . lts area is 6912 sq.cm. Find it's dimensions

let length be x and breadth be y 

ATQ 

x/y = 3/4 
x = 3y/4

And ATGC 

xy = 6912 

3y²/4 = 6912 

3y² = 27648 

y² = 9216 

y  = 96 

as x = 3y/4

 x = 3 x 96 / 4 = 72

and we know, the area of rectangle = l+b
so, 6912= 3x+4x
6912=7x
7x=6912
x=6912/7
x=987.4

length=2962.2 cm
width= 3949.6 cm
