Answer:

The ratio of the length and breadth of a plot is 3:2.

Let the rational between length and breadth be x

Hence length of the plot is 3x metres and breadth if the plot is 2x metres

Breadth = length - 40 m

2x = 3x - 40

2x - 3x = - 40

--x = —40

x = 40

The rational is 40

Thus length of plot 3x = 3 × 40 = 120 metres

Breadth of the plot 2x = 2 × 40 = 80 metres

We know Perimeter = 2 (length + breadth)

Perimeter = 2 (120 m + 80 m)

Perimeter = 2 (200 m)

Perimeter = 400 metres

Answer : the Perimeter of the plot is 400 metres
