Given :-

  • Length of box = 75 cm
  • Breadth of box = 85 cm
  • Height of box = 95 cm

To find :-

  • Greatest length of tape which can measure the three dimensions of the box exactly.

How to find :-

  • According to this question first we have to find the the H.C.F of the 75, 85, 95. From this we we have to find the common factor. That common factor will be the HCF and our answer also.

Solution:-

Let's find the Factors of 75, 85, 95 :-

75 = 5 × 3 × 5

85 = 5 × 17

95 = 5 × 19

Common factor is :- 5

So, H.C.F is the 5 of the following numbers.

Length of Longest tape = 5 cm

So, greatest length of tape which can measure the three dimensions of the box exactly is 5 cm.

\sf\bold{Given\::}

\bullet Length = 75cm

\bullet Breadth = 85cm

\bullet height = 95cm

\sf\bold{To\:find\::} greatest length of tape , by using which we can measure all three dimensions exactly

\sf\bold{Procedure\::}

In these type of questions, we are asked to find the Highest common factor (H.C.F.) of all dimensions { It is because when divided by HCF , there will be no remainder }

\sf\bold{Solution\::}

\bullet 75 = 3×5×5

\bullet 85 = 5×17

\bullet 95 = 5×19

Therefore, HCF of 75 , 85 & 95 is \sf\bold{5\::}

Therefore, \sf\bold{5cm\::} is the greatest length of tape , by which we can measure all three dimensions exactly

\sf\bold{ANSWER\::} = \sf\bold{5cm\::}
