Inner dimensions are 10−2, 8−2 and 5−1

i. e., 8 cm, 6 cm. and 4 cm.

∴ Outer surface =10×8+2×5(10+8)=80+180=260cm

and inner surface =8×6+2×4(8+6)=48+112=160cm

∴ Total surface area of the box =260+160=420cm
