To find total number of cubes formed from given rectangular block:

Calculate the Volume of rectangular block,then divided it by volume of cube

We know that volume of
cuboid(Rectangular block)
=

$l \times b \times h \\ \\ = 18 \times 12 \times 8$

Volume of cube

= ${a}^{3} \\ = {3}^{3} \\ = 3 \times 3 \times 3$

Total number of cubes formed

$= \frac{18 \times 12 \times 8}{3 \times 3 \times 3} \\ \\ = 2 \times 4 \times 8 \\ \\ = 64$

So,64 cubes can be formed.
