Length = 5m 40cm = 540cm

Breadth = 4m 20cm = 420 cm

Height = 3m = 300 cm

HCF = 60cm

so the length of longest tape is 60 cm

Answer:

Area of the parallelogram ABCD = Area of triangle ABD + Area of triangle BCD

Since both the triangles are same, Area of the parallelogram ABCD =2×( Area of triangle ABD)

Area of triangle with sides a, b, and c and s

=

2

a+b+c

 is

s(s−a)(s−b)(s−c)

 .

For triangle with sides 10 cm, 24 cm and 26 cm, s=

2

10+24+26

=30cm

Area of the triangle with sides 10 cm, 24 cm and 26 cm =

30(30−10)(30−24)(30−26)

=

30×20×6×4

=

6×5×4×5×6×4

=6×5×4=120cm

2

Hence, Area of the parallelogram ABCD =2×( Area of triangle ABD) =2×120=240cm
