Given,

length of a room = 5m

breadth of the room = 4m

height of the room = 3m

Therefore, Area of four walls = 2h ( l + b )

                                                = 2 ×3 ( 4m + 5m )

                                                = 6 ( 9 )

                                                = 54Sqmm

Area of ceiling = lb [ because the ceiling is in rectangular shape ]

                       = 5m * 4m

                      = 20 Sqm

So, Total area = area of four walls + area of the ceiling

    = 54 Sqm + 20 Sqm

        = 74 Sqm

Cost of white-washing 1 Sqm = Rs 50

Cost of whitewashing 74 Sqm = Rs 50 × 74 Sqm

                                                  = Rs 3700 /-
