The length,breadth and height of a room are 7m,5m,3m respectively. Find the cost of painting the four walls and ceiling of the room at Rupees 10 per sq m.

As given

Length = 7 m

Breadth = 5 m

Height = 3 m

Then

Area of four walls = 2( l+ b) × h =2×(7+5) ×3 = 2×12×3 =72 m square

And

Area of ceiling = l× b = 7×5 =35 m square

Total area = 72+35 =107 m square

Therefore

Cost of painting the four walls and ceiling of the room at ₹10 per m square = 107×10 = ₹1070

Length = 7m

Breadth = 5m

Height = 3m

Area of Four wall = perimeter × height

= 2( L + B ) × H

= 2( 7 + 5 ) × 3

= 2 × 12 × 3

= 72 sq. m

And ,

Area of the Ceiling = Length × breadth

=( 7 × 5 ) sq. m

= 35 sq. m

Total area to be painted = area of four walls + area of the ceiling .

= 72 sq. m + 35 sq. m

= 107 sq. m

Now,

Rate of Painting = ₹ 10/m^2

Cost of painting 107 sq. m = 107 × 10

= ₹ 1070

Hence, The cost of painting the four walls and ceiling of the room is ₹ 1070 .
