GIVEN:-

  • The Length, breadth and height of a room is 10m, 8m, 2.5m respectively.
  • The cost of painting is at a rate of Rs.15/m².

TO FIND:-

  • The total surface area of room
  • The cost of painting four side walls and ceiling.

SOLUTION:-

The formula of total area of four walls of a room,

 {\boxed{ \red {\tt{A = 2h(l + b)}}}}

  • A = Total surface area of four walls
  • h = Height of the room
  • l = Length of the room
  • b = breadth of the room

Now, putting the values in the formula we will use the following formula :-

{\boxed {\pink{ \tt{A = l \times b}}}}

Now putting the values,

 \implies \tt{a = 10 \times 8}

 \implies \tt{a = 80}

Total area of the 4 walls and the ceiling of the room is = (90+80) = 170m².

•It requires Rs 15/m² for painting.

Therefore the total cost required.

 \implies \tt{170 \times 15}

 \implies \tt{2550}

Answer:

Given:-

The length, breadth and height of a room is 10 m, 8 m, 2.5 m respectively.

The cost of painting is at a rate of Rs. 15/m².

To Find:-

The total surface area of room

The cost of painting four side walls and ceiling.

Solution:-

The formula of total area of four walls of a room,

A = 2h ( l + b )

A = Total surface area of four walls

h = height of the room

l = length of the room

b = breadth of the room

Now, putting the values in the formula we get,

A = 2 × 2.5 ( 10 + 8 )

A = 5 × 18

A = 90

To find the area of ceiling, we will use the following formula :

Area = Length × Breadth

Now, putting the values,

A = 10 × 8

A = 80

Total area of the four walls and the ceiling of the room is = ( 90 + 80 ) = 170 m²

▪ It requires Rs. 15/m² for painting,

Therefore, the total cost required = 170 × 15

= 2550
