Given:

Perimeter of a rectangular park=84m

To Find:

Dimensions of the park i. e. length & breadth.

Solution:

Let the length of the rectangular park be l and the breadth be b

Therefore,

From given condition,

l=b+18

Since we know that,

Perimeter of a rectangle=2(l+b)

But l=b+18...... (1)

Now,

84=2(b+18+b)

84/2=2b+18

42=2b+18

42-18=2b

24=2b

b=24/2

b=12

Substituting the value of b in (1) we get,

l=20

Therefore, length =20 m and breath=12m
