given :-

length of the rectangle = 5cm

breadth of the rectangle = 3cm

here, we have to find the Length of it's diagonal.

if we divide the rectangle by a diagonal, then we get two right angle triangles.

consider one of them, you'll find that the Length and breadth are the base and perpendicular Respectively and diagonal is the hypotenuse.

→ d² = l² + b²

→ d² = 5² + 3²

→ d² = 25 + 9

→ d² = 34

→ d = √34cm

hence, the Length of the diagonal is √34 cm or 5.8cm (approximately)
