STEP 1: Find the breadth of the rectangle

Using Pythagoras' Theorem, a² + b² = c², to find the missing leg.

a² + b² = c²

5² + b² = 13²

b² = 13² - 5²

b² = 144

b = √144

b = 12

The breadth is 12 units.

STEP 2: Find the perimeter:

Perimeter = 2 (Length + Breadth)

Perimeter = 2 (5 + 12) = 2 (17) = 34 units

Answer: (B) 34 units

By using phythagoreus theorem,

x²+5²=13²

x²+25=169

x²=169-25

x²=144

x=√144=12

hence length=12 units nd width=5 units

so perimeter=2(l+w)

⇒2(12+5)

⇒2×17

⇒34 units

Coreect answer is option b)34
