solution :

1) (AC)²= (AB) ² + (BC) ²

(15)² = (9)² + (BC) ²

225 = 81 + (BC) ²

(BC) ² = 225 - 81

(BC) ² = 144

Taking out square root on both sides

BC = 12cm = length

2) Area = length X breadth

= 12 x 9

= 108cm²
