Answer:

Given :-

  • Length of field is 3 m more than breadth
  • Perimeter of field = 42 m

To Find :-

Length and Breadth

Solution :-

 \mathfrak \red {\underline{ \dag \: As \:  we \:  know \:  that}}

 \sf \pink{Perimeter = 2(Length + Breadth)}

Let the breadth be x

Hence, Length will be x + 3

 \tt \: 42 = 2(x + 3 + x)

 \tt \: 42 = (2 \times x) + (2 \times 3) + (2 \times x)

 \tt \: 42 = 2x + 6 + 2x

 \tt \: 42 = 4x + 6

 \tt \: 42 - 6 = 4x

 \tt \: 36 = 4x

 \tt \: x \:  =  \cancel \dfrac{36}{4}

 \tt \: x \:  = 9

 \mathfrak \orange{ Breadth = 9m}

 \mathfrak \blue{Length  = 9 + 3 = 12 \: m}

★Given that, The length of a field exceeds the breadth by 3m and the perimeter is 42m.

__________________________________________

To Find:

  • the length and breadth of the rectangle

now let the length be, x+3

and the breadth be, x

\sf\pink{perimeter:} 2(length +breath)

\sf\blue{perimeter = 2(x+x+3)}

\sf\red{42 = 2(2x+3)}

\sf\purple{42 = 4x+6}

\sf\green{42-6=4x}

\sf\pink{36=4x}

 \sf\blue{x= \cancel \frac{36}{4}}

\mathbb{\underline{\boxed{\purple{x=9m}}\star}}

now breath = 9m

length = 12m (9+3m)

hope this helps.!
