Answer:

Let breadth be x

Let length be x+12

Perimeter=2(l+b)

76=2(x+12+x)

76=2x+24+2x

76=2x+2x+24

76=4x+24

76-24=4x

52=4x

52/4=x

13=x

So, breadth=13 and length=13+12=25

Area=l×b

=25×13=325 m^2

Cost of carpeting 1 m^2=₹4

Cost of carpeting 325 m^2=₹4×325=₹1300

Sol: Let the breadth of hall = xm

Length of hall = (x+12)m

Perimeter of Rectangle = 76 m

 = 2(l + b) = 76 \\  = 2(x + x + 12) = 76 \\  = 2(2x + 12) = 76 \\  = 2x + 12 =  \frac{76}{2}  \\  = 2x = 38 - 12 \\  = 2x = 26 \\  = x =  \frac{26}{2}  \\  = x = 13

So , Breadth = 13cm and length = (13 + 12) = 25cm

Area of hall = L × B

= 25 × 13

= 325 cm²

Cost of 1m2 of Carpeting = Rs4

Cost of 156m2of Carpeting = Rs4 × 325 = Rs1300
