Answer:

x = 3 or -9

Step-by-step explanation:

Distance between two points

= \sqrt{(x2-x1)^{2}  + (y2-y1)^{2} }

Given (x1,y1) = (2,-3)

(x2,y2) = (10,x)

Also its given 8^{2}  + (-3-x)^{2}

Length of Line Segment = 10 Units

10 =  \sqrt{(x2-x1)^{2}  + (y2-y1)^{2} }

ie 10 =  \sqrt{(10-2)^{2}  + (-3-x)^{2} }

Square at both sides

100 = 8^{2} + (-3-x)^{2}

100  = 64 + x^{2} + 9 + 6x

36 = x^{2} + 9 + 6x

(x+3)^{2} = 36

x + 3 = 6 or x+3 = -6

There fore x = 3 or -9
