Answer:

swept by minute hand in 60 minutes = 360 degree

in 1 minute swept = 360/60 = 6

in 5 minutes swept = 6×5= 30 degree

Now area swept by minute hand in 5 minutes

= pie r^2 × pie/6) / 2pie

= r^2 pie/ 12

= 196 × 3.14/12 = 51.28 cm^2

Answer:

154/3 cm²

Step-by-step explanation:

angle swept by the clock in 60 minutes = 360°

angle swept in 1 minute = 360°/60= 6°

angle swept in 5 minutes = 6 × 5 = 30°

θ = 30°, radius = length of minute hand = 14 cm

now,

area  swept by minute hand in 5 minutes = area of the sector formed by it.

                                                                    = pie r²θ/360°

                                                                    = 22/7×14 ×14 × 30/360

                                                                   = 154/3 cm²
